Trussardi is a famous Italian luxury fashion house founded in 1911 by Dante Trussardi. Trussardi fashion house is based in Milan Italy, specialized in Bags, suitcases, small leather goods, ready-to-wear clothing, perfumes, and accessories.

Nicola Trussardi
Nicola Trussardi was born in June 17, 1942 was an Italian fashion designer and entrepreneur. In 1968 Nicola graduated from the Catholic University of Milan in Commerce and Economic. After the death of his father Nicola took over the Trussardi fashion house in 1970 and built the small glove-maker into an international fashion giant that immensely helped for the popularity of the made in Italy fashion label around the world.
The Nicola Trussardi Foundation was named in his honor.

Expansion of Trussardi fashion house
In 1980, Trussardi fashion house released its first perfume “Trussardi”
1983, launched perfume “Trussardi Uomo” for men and the first Trussardi women’s ready-to-wear line.
1984, launched men’s ready-to-wear line.
By 1985, the brand had 120 stores around the world. Around this time, Trussardi fashion house entered the US market, with sections in department stores in addition to boutiques, and initial franchise locations in Beverly Hills, Atlanta, Miami, and San Francisco. The company also developed interior designs for private aircraft and helicopters.
1986, Trussardi Jeans was released and later added sport and home lines.
In 1989 Nicola Trussardi purchased the historical building Marino alla Scala, located beside the La Scala opera house in Milan, which now contains several different establishments, including a Trussardi boutique and showroom. Trussardi fashion house has spent about $67 million over seven years to have the complex completed.

In 1992, Trussardi fasion house licensed its Trussardi Levriero and Trussardi Action lines to the Japanese company C. Itoh for about $1.4 billion for about five years. At the time, 70% of the Trussardi exports were made to Japan, and there were about 200 Trussardi Levriero stores in the country. Following its partnership with C. Itoh, Nicola Trussardi partnered with Teijin Ltd, intending it to be Trussardi’s long-term partner in japan.

1998, Trussardi launched a new eyewear line, with both prescription and sun glasses.
1999. Nicola Trussardi died when he lost control of his Mercedes-Benz on Tangenziale Est of Milan and hit a lamp post in the early hours of the 13th of April, 1999. He died the following day in Milan.
2003, after the death of her brother Francesco Trussardi, Beatrice became president and CEO of the fashion house. Trussardi fashion house took on Mitsui as its partner in Japan, ending its relationship with Teijin.
2006, Maria Luisa Trussardi became the CEO of Trussardi fashion house.
